Little Shiva tells the story of Dot:

I moved to Charlotte in 1999 after 17 years in Manhattan, and had to learn to drive at 35. Lobster X said his roommate Dave Neff had driven this nice old BMW into a ditch and was gonna give it to the junkyard, but he gave it to me instead. I paid a dollar for the title just to make it legit.

After coming back from Burning Man in 2003, I decided enough beige was enough already and got to paintin'. Lobster suggested green for the bottom, which was originally going to be black. Green is much better. The flowers were added after I bumped into a tree while trying to back up a hill in the pouring rain at Deerfields, seriously denting the already cracked bumper. I've glued little glass nipples to all the dots since this picture was taken, and have started painting the inside roof and doors. The wheels are next – it slowly gets more surreal.
